School building fund
Along with all other Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Birmingham, Ss Peter & Paul School has been asked to adopt the framework in the booklet‘Investing In Your Child’s Future:the Diocesan Schools Building Fund & Voluntary Contribution Scheme.'
This booklet outlines the need for financial support from parents to offset the costs for repair and maintenance of our school buildings.
The Governors of Ss Peter & Paul School have explored several ways of introducing and maintaining a fair and successful School Building Fund.
In order that all of our school families are included in the contribution process, and a satisfactory audit trail can be maintained to satisfy the requirements of the Inland Revenue (Gift Aid) and the Local Authority, we have purchased personal contribution envelopes from Lockie Church and Print Limited who have many years of experience in supplying such stationery. Parents are asked to contribute £30 per family per year which can either be paid outright in September at the beginning of the academic year, in three termly instalments of £10 or monthly (£2.50) by Direct Debit through the bank.
During the summer term, parents will be given a School Building Fund report and in addition, those parents who have completed a Gift Aid Declaration will receive confirmation of their contributions and the appropriate tax refund claimed on their behalf from the Diocesan Gift Aid Office. We are grateful to all of our school families who support the school so wholeheartedly and we owe it to them to remain conscious of the many calls upon their generosity. However, it is very important that we educate our boys and girls in a building, which is not only warm and welcoming, but structurally safe, sound and adequate for the varied activities which take place therein. Throughout the school year governors will consider additional opportunities to support the Building Fund but the envelope scheme will be our main source of funding to provide a sound basis on which to build our continuing plans for improvement and development. Further information regarding the School Building Fund, Gift Aid donations or legacies in favour of the fund is available from the school.
